執事會於10/6晚召開特別會議，決定將40週年慶典從10/10延遲，具體日期稍後公佈。延遲緣因乃為本堂莊健牧師偕師母於10/6報告經檢測 COVID-19 病毒，結果為呈陽性。
莊牧師不僅曾於10/3 在國語堂講道，同日下午亦到禮堂參加40 週年活動綵排。他們當日曾與多人接觸，包括所有牧師同工。考慮現況及可能受影響的場地，執事會不擬沖擊 10 / 10 慶典的精神，並希望在紀念活動或實體聚會前，教會先進行全面清潔消毒，讓可能受感染者有足夠時間進行檢測及隔離。出於謹慎考慮，決定即時執行公共衛生指引，以確保會眾在安全環境下活動。
此為突發事件，感謝莊健牧師願意向教會及社區披露信息，更鼓勵全會眾為他和他的家人代禱。
本週 10/10粵/英/國語崇拜分別再以 Zoom進行，時間一如實體崇拜；稍後將提供更多消息。
The deacon board called up a special meeting on the evening of October 6 and decided to postpone the 40th anniversary celebration from October 10 to a later date to be announced later. This is due to the news that Pastor and Mrs. Miller Zhuang tested positive for the COVID 19 virus on October 6.
Pastor Miller was not only preaching in the Mandarin congregation on October 3, but was present in the sanctuary for the rehearsal of the 40th anniversary program that afternoon. They were in contact with a number of people, including all of the pastoral staff. Due to the specific situation and the unique scenario, the deacon board does not wish to dampen the spirit of the October 10 event and wants to make sure the church building will be cleaned before the commemorative event and people can have enough time to quarantine and be tested if they so wish. Out of an abundance of caution, it is the desire of the deacon board to go beyond the public health mandate to ensure that parishioners are worshipping in a safe environment.
This is a special case, and we want to thank Pastor Miller for his willingness to disclose this information to the church community. We urge you all to lift up prayers for him and his family.
