  1. Our dearly beloved Rev Dr David I P Chan announced his retirement news on June 30, 2025, with an effective date on September 1. On behalf of the entire church, the Deacon Board would like to congratulate him first and foremost, thanking him for his dedicated service over a total of 25 years.  Thanks to his untiring effort to advance the gospel, to promote church planting, PGMBC has made progress in all directions.  His personal care for our members is profoundly cherished.  What lingers most in the heart and mind of the three congregations are the touching and beautifully crafted sermons he has prepared for the spiritual growth of the Lord’s sheep.  We wish him, Mrs Chan and their family the best in the years to come, gaining strength each day until full recovery and experiencing God’s supreme love that knows no boundaries.  We’ll share details soon about any celebration related to the retirement. Please stay tuned.

  1. New Sermon Series Based on the Book of Acts – Called to Be Church
  • Every church has its creation story. The question is, do you know the creation story of PGMBC? It goes back much further than you might think. Every church that follows the teachings of Jesus goes back to when the Church had its beginning back in the first century a short time after the resurrection of Jesus. Throughout 2024 Pastors Bill and Don will be teaching through a sermon series based on the book of Acts on what it means to be Called to Be Church. What did Jesus have in mind when he said he would build his church? Are we living up to his calling on us to be his church? As we go through this sermon series, we will also look for ways that it ties into our theme for 2024: Revive, Regroup and Rebuild. That is, to be revived spiritually in our faith and our commitment to be followers of Jesus; to regroup as a community of faith around our mission and vision as a church; and to rebuild by reaching out beyond the walls of our church to those with whom we come in contact in our everyday lives, as well as to those who live in our community, and beyond that to a world that is in great need of knowing and experiencing the good news of God’s love for them. We hope you plan to join us in this journey. Come prepared to be encouraged as well as challenged in your own journey of faith as well as your part in being an attender of Pacific Grace Mennonite Brethren Church.

To help in our preparation for Christmas as a church and in our individual lives, during the first three Sundays of December we will be following the themes of Advent in our English Worship Service. We hope you plan to attend all the services and stay for the discussion during Sunday School to learn practical ways how you can make your celebration of Christmas more meaningful for yourself, your family, as well as others.
